Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 : Amman Airport – Amman Hotel
On arrival in Amman you will be met by our representative , they will sort the Jordanian visa and take you through immigration, collect your bags and then transfer to the hotel.
  • In the evening, meet your fellow travelers at a welcome dinner and short opening presentation by Laura. Those arriving early (and raring to go) will have the opportunity to take an optional afternoon excursion.

Day 2  Amman Hotel – Jerash (Visit)
  • After breakfast we depart to Jerash, one of the most complete and best-preserved cities of the Roman Empire. A walk – through its streets, theaters, temples and other places like the Great Colonnade Street, Arc of Triumph, the Oval Plaza and the Temples of Zeus and Artemis.
  • After our visit we then descend to the lowest place on earth, the Dead Sea and the desert of Moab. The Dead Sea and the desert of Moab, the lowest point on earth and the first natural spa in the world, 400 meters under sea level. The Dead Sea is one of the most incredible places in the world. The Dead Sea speaks for itself; there is no living fish! It is by far one of Jordan’s most impressive and spectacular places to visit. Its calm shining water glowing from its scorching sun is known for the concentration of salt and minerals, which makes it a therapeutic as well as a unique swimming experience not to be missed!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Dinner and overnight at the Dead Sea Hotel.
Day 3  Dead Sea Hotel – Madaba (Visit) – Mount Nebo (Visit) – Lunch at Mount Nebo La Storia Restaurant – Karak Castle or Shobak Castle (Visit)
  • Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Madaba the “City of Mosaics”, visit the ancient mosaic map of Jordan and the Holy Land made in 571 B.C. at the Saint George Church. It is marked with the points of interest of some historical stories recorded in the Bible. Proceed to drive up Mount Nebo where Prophet Moses is said to have died. Enjoy the view of the Holy Land and the Jordan Valley, and visit the mosaics found inside the church of Mount Nebo. Then exit thru the Kings Highway to Shobak fortress (or Karak) built between 1110 and 1213 DC by the Templers during the Crusades, which then were taken by Saladin. Departure to Petra.   • Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4  Petra (Visit) – Lunch at Al- Qantarah Restaurant
  • Breakfast at the hotel. Classic full day visit of the Nabatean red rose city of Petra, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, carved out of rock over 2000 years ago. We will access the city through its entrance, narrow gorge (Siq) of 1.2 kilometers from there we continue to reach the impressive monumental Treasury (El Khazneh) which was believed to hold countless treasures. The first view of the “Khazneh” is breath-taking. Other monuments we can see are the Theatre, the Byzantine Church, and the Royal Tombs. Climbing up to the Monastery or the Altar of Sacrifice is optional and on clients’ behalf. Free time and visit Petra Museum, if there is time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5  Wadi Rum (4X4 Jeep Tour) – Amman (Citadel and Roman Theater Visit)
  • Breakfast at the hotel. Driver to Wadi Rum, called the valley of moon where the movie Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were filmed, for a classic 2 hours visit of Wadi Rum in a 4×4 local jeeps with local Bedouin. Wadi Rum is a uniquely shaped massive mountain that rose amongst the rosy red sand of the desert with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors. Visit the local Bedouins for a cup of Arabic tea, as well as free time for an optional camel ride at your own expense.
  • Lunch at Wadi Rum Camp or Rock Adventure (no beverages included)
  • Return to Amman for tour of the city, known anciently as Philadelphia: visit the city center, downtown with its Roman Theater, Citadel, traditional markets (souqs), churches, and mosques like King Abdullah Blue Mosque next to the Parliament. (Entrance to the Roman Theater, Citadel, and King Abdullah Blue Mosque included).

Laura Ranieri Roy

A passionate Egyptologist, Laura is a widely respected and engaging speaker on all things Ancient Egypt. She obtained her MA in 2016 from the University of Toronto, and has given talks across North America (and in Europe and Asia virtually) at schools, museums, associations, public libraries and at The American Research Centre in Egypt (ARCE) conferences.  Laura has led numerous trips to Egypt where her background as a professional writer and storyteller ensures that the history of Egypt leaps vividly to life.  She has participated in archaeological excavations at South Asasif, Amarna, Egypt and at a classical Greek site in Bulgaria. She has interviewed many leading figures in the field, including Donald Redford and Barry Kemp who currently runs the dig at Amarna – Akhenaten’s capital. •In hotels usually, breakfast and dinner buffet except if low occupancy it would be seated set menu. All type of water and drinks not included.

•Check in time hotels Amman at 14 hours and check out time at 12 noon as per hotel policy.

•Check in time hotel Dead Sea and Aqaba at 15 – 16 hours and check out time at 12 noon
